Clinical Patient Trainer – Independent Contractor – AK

Position Summary:

As a contracted Clinical Patient Trainer this position is responsible for performing in-home patient trainings on how to use their Walkasins^® Lower Limb Sensory Prosthesis prescribed by their clinicians. These trainings will be assigned by RxFunction and at the sole discretion of RxFunction. Scheduling and coordination of these trainings will be handled by the Clinical Patient Trainer. These trainings include teaching the patient and/or caregiver in all aspects of Walkasins use, including donning and doffing and sensory integration training.

Responsibilities

• Travel to in-home trainings within determined drivable territory
• Provide general product information, training and patient education regarding Walkasins.
• Offer device trouble shooting and be able to answer patient’s questions during the assigned training.
• Verify patient’s understanding of education by verbal and/or written acknowledgment
• Identify and communicate problems, questions or additional patient support needs to appropriate RxFunction department
• Review, complete and submit required paperwork with patient
• Maintain compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements, including HIPAA

Required Qualifications

• Current, active license in your state of practice. In these fields: PT, PTA, OT, COTA, RN, AT, or LPN.

• Ability to work independently and flexibly to accommodate patients’ schedules including some evenings and weekend.
• Experience with medical device training or in the healthcare industry

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a patient facing, education/training and/or highly advanced customer service role
• Efficient in scheduling, managing, and responding to multiple training opportunities
• Skilled in organization and time management
• IT proficiency to effectively complete paperwork, update records and communicate progress with patients

Physical Requirements

• Ability and willingness to travel within determined drivable territory
• Reliable transportation available (mileage will be reimbursed)
